Committee to ensure border counties have benefited from the peace process

joe mc hughThe Committee for the implementation of the Good Friday Agreement is to visit Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan next year to ensure that the benefits of the Peace Process spread into the border counties.
The announcement was made by the Committee’s Chairperson. Donegal North East Deputy Joe Mc Hugh, after a delegation from the committee met last evening with Dr Richard Haass.
He’s the former US Special Envoy who is now chairing an initiative to address legacy issues, as well as problems associated with flags and emblems.
Deputy Mc Hugh says the meeting was a significant one, and will inform the committee’s own work into next year:
