MEP Pat the Cope Gallagher says that while there are no immediate concerns over the removal of support funding for Donegal Airport he is concerned new regulations could pave the way.
Draft guidelines by the European Commission will change the rules that permit EU Member States through national, regional and local authorities to invest in infrastructure or provide operating aid to airports.
The rules would apply to airports with over 200 thousand passengers per year, this would impact on Knock Airport now but not Donegal Airport which currently has less.
Pat the Cope Gallagher says he wants the ceiling raised……….
