Investigation launched into dig for missing schoolgirl Mary Boyle

maryboylefeaturedThe Garda Ombudsman has launched an investigation into a dig for the body of missing schoolgirl Mary Boyle.
Earlier this year the Sunday World along with a scanning company, carried out a geographic survey of land at Cashelard near Ballyshannon, and identified a number of anomalies consistent with a grave.
Acting on the information, Gardai carried out a dig on the sight using a JCB.
A complaint to the ombudsman was made by Mary’s twin sister in relation to the dig, and now an investigation into the Gardai’s actions will take place.
Mary disappeared from her grandparent’s house in Cashelard, near Ballyshannon in March, 1977 and was never seen again.
