The CEO of Donegal Local Development Company says the vast majority of Gaeltacht projects left without funding following the collapse of MFG have now had their grants finalised. MFG Teo ceased trading in September 2011, and DLDC was appointed to administer its Leader portfolio the following July.
Caoimhin Mac Aoidh was speaking following the launch of a booklet celebrating the success of leader and other projects administered by DLDC, which is 18 years old this year.
Since 1995, DLDC has been involved with 750 projects involving Leader funding of 23 million, and a total spend of 55 million when matching funds are taken into account.
Mr Mc Aodh has been speaking to Highland Radio News about the challenge of taking over the MFG projects, and the success of Leader over the past 18 years…….
