The Mayor of Letterkenny is urging people in the town not to get complacent in the fight against crime.
Cllr Pascal Blake says there’s been a lot of success in reducing burglaries this year, largely due to cooperation between the local Joint Policing Committee, gardai and the public, but he says a house break in in the Glencar Park area on Christmas Day is an indication of the ongoing risk.
There were also Christmas house break-ins reported in Ballybofey, with gardai in both areas investigating.
Cllr Blake says its a particularly dispicable crime at this time of year………
