Government insists Malin Head Coast Guard Station will not be downgraded in 2014

helicopterDonegal Government Deputy Joe McHugh has insisted there are no plans to downgrade the Coast Guard Station at Malin Head.
It was reported yesterday that the station would be reduced to a 12-hour watch rather than 24 hours.
While it was also reported that radio station staff would be cut by 18.5 per cent.
But Deputy McHugh says he can guarantee there will be no cuts at Malin Head Coast Guard station in 2014:
