Donegal Pet Rescue says its was both shocked and disgusted this week after 10 Springer Spaniels were surrendered to its care
Six 18 week old pups and four adult females and one Labrador were surrendered into the rescue services care.
Donegal pet Rescue says after being contacted by a person in Lifford to take the dogs in, it was in total shock to see the condition that the dogs were in.
The group says it has never seen pups of such a young age in such a condition.
The pups own excrement was covering their body and all dogs where stained yellow from lying in their own urine.
The dogs were taken to a groomer to try and clean them however the groomer had no choice but to shave the pups such was their condition.
It has since emerged that another 17 Springer dogs and pups were taken from the same owner with some charities local and cross border splitting them up between them.
Donegal Pet Rescue is appealing to the public to make a donation towards the cost of procedures carried out on the dogs so far , the bills are approx between 800 to 1000 euro.
Spokesperson for the group, Ryan McCauley says he has never seen puppies in such terrible conditions:
