Donegal and Northwest escape worst of severe storms as thousands left without power

ESBDonegal and the Northwest escaped the worst of the severe weather conditions last night as parts of the country were battered by storms.
The ESB says customers hit by yesterday’s storm should make preparations for being without power for a number of days.
190,000 homes and businesses are without supply this morning and crews are being assisted by staff from Northern Ireland Electricity in an effort to have power restored.
The worst affected areas are in the South and South West.
ESB Spokesperson Mike Fitzgerald says the damage is unprecedented and they are using all the resources they can to get things fixed as quickly as possible:
