English out of national indoors with infection

Mark English has been forced to withdraw from competition this weekend due to an infection.
Ireland’s 800m indoor record holder was due to compete at two events, the Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix on Saturday and the National Track and Field Indoor Championships in Athlone on Sunday.
Mark is expected to recover in time for the World Indoors which will be held in Poland at the start of next month.
The Irish team for that event will be confirmed this weekend and the Letterkenny runners name is set to be included.
