A HSE backed initiative to improve health by increasing exercise and community activity in Donegal has been a major success according to an evaluation report published this afternoon.
The Green Prescription programme involves doctors advising patients to become more active and referring them to community initiatives such as walking groups. The report found this has had a beneficial impact on both individual and community health
The initiative was piloted in Cloghan, and then rolled out to more areas of the county.
