Police officer struck in Derry by car stolen in Donegal

Police at Strand Road are appealing for information about a traffic collision in which an officer was struck by a car.
At about 12.20am today Gardai at Buncrana reported the theft of a northern registration Toyota Celica car in Bridgend.
Shortly before 4am, the car was spotted by police at Caw Hill Park in Derry.
The car was reversed into a police car, causing damage to the front grille. When officers approached, the car was driven at them and it drove over an officer’s foot. The officer was not injured.
The Toyota then drove off towards Limavady Road.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at Strand Road or anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity.
