McDermott & O’Donnell pick up FAI awards but Coleman misses out

FAIDonegal players were last night honoured at the FAI International Football Awards in Dublin.
Cockhill Celtic’s Malachy McDermott was named as the Intermediate Player of the Year.
McDermott who was last seasons Player of the Year in the Ulster Senior League helped Cockhill to the double in 2013 and was also a a crucial member of the Interprovincial winning side.
Bonagee Utd’s Noel O’Donnell won the Football for All International award.
Noel has been capped 48 times for the Irish deaf football team.
The night ended on a surprise note for soccer fans in the north west with Killybegs Seamus Coleman missing out on an award.
The Everton right back was pipped by Robbie Keane for the Senior Player of the Year.
