Gardai investigating after firearms stolen from house in Newtowncunningham

robberyGardai are investigating after a house was ransacked and two firearms were stolen in Newtowncunningham.
The robbery happened yesterday afternoon between 1pm and 2pm in Rooskey, on the road between Killea and Newtowncunningham.
A substantial sum of money and a hunting knife were also stolen along with the two shotguns.
A local farmer noticed a vehicle acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the robbery, and Gardai are following that line of inquiry.
Gardai want to hear from anyone who may have noticed a blueish/greenish car with a Northern registration beginning with the letters MHZ in the area.
Speaking on todays Shaun Doherty Show, one of the people who lives in the house Mark, said they also stole a substantial sum of money that he had saved for a stag party…..
