Man suffers injuries in Derry car hijacking

A police investigation has been launched following a vehicle hijacking in the Carnhill area of Shantallow this morning.
At around 1.30am a man was assaulted by a number of males and had his car, a blue Toyota Starlet, taken.
Police say the man suffered cuts and bruising to his face in the incident.
The car was reported being driven in the Benview Estate, Coshquin with three males on board at around 1.45am and later recovered from this area where it had been abandoned.
The three males were described as being around 17 years old, approx 5’9″ tall and were all wearing jeans.
One male wore a dark coloured Superdry coat, one a white jacket and the third male wore a multi coloured top with a white hood.
Police would ask anyone with any information to contact them at Strand Road.
