Staff shortages in Donegal Mental Health Services to be raised in the Dail

pearse DohertyStaff shortages in the Donegal Mental Health Services are to be raised in the Dail,, with Donegal South West Deputy Pearse Doherty saying he’s very concerned about the issue.
Earlier this week, the friend of a service user expressed concern that a cancelled appointment and the prospect of a six month wait to be seen may leave her vulnerable.

This which will cause the postponment of more outpatient clinics at short notice as well as increased waiting times for new patients and delays in the assessment of emergency referrals.
Deputy Doherty says he’ll be raising questions, adding that Donegal has seen almost every community affected by suicide, and these services must be strengthened rather than cut…….
