AGSI conference to debate Donegal motion on garda whistleblowers charter

The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors annual conference will today hear calls from gardaí based in Co Donegal for the confidential reporting charter to be revised to allow for greater protection for whistleblowers.
They have also called for the establishment of an Independent Police Authority to control and regulate the force.
The motions will be debated at the AGSI annual conference which opens today in Killarney, Co Kerry.
The acting Commissioner Noirin O’Sullivan will address the event tomorrow while the Justice Minister Alan Shatter will be unable to attend as he’ll be marking passover and attending a meeting in Luxembourg tomorrow.
