Direct Democracy Ireland candidate says people should haver the real power

One of two candidates contesting the local elections in Donegal for Direct Democracy Ireland is pledging that of elected, people will be consulted on what issues should be raised in the council chamber and what the priorities of the council should be.
Eilis Haden, who is contesting the election in the Inishowen area says a core belief of their organisation is that any person can collect a certain number of signatures to call a Referendum at either county or national level, and politicians who are not performing their duties to the satisfaction of the electorate can be removed.
She says she wants to see those principles implemented in Donegal…………
