Tierney and Mc Cann handed Tyrone Championship debuts

Tyrone CrestTyrone manager Mickey Harte has handed championship debuts to defenders Barry Tierney and Tiernan McCann for Sunday’s Ulster SFC preliminary round clash with Down at Healy Park.
Skipper Sean Cavanagh has been named at centre forward, with Conor Clarke chosen as midfield partner for Colm Cavanagh, who has overcome a quad muscle injury to make the starting line-up.
Corner forward Kyle Coney will make his first Ulster Championship start, despite the fact that he has established himself as one of the country’s top attackers during his five seasons with the Red Hands.
The Tyrone team contains just seven members of the side that appeared in their last championship game, the 2013 All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Mayo.
The Red Hands will be without defenders Joe McMahon and Ronan McNamee, both ruled out by injury.
Oisn Kelly and Declan Bonner will have full commentary from Omagh on Highland’s Sunday Sport.
