A spokesperson for Lough Swilly Lifeboat says an Inishowen lobster fisherman is “lucky to be alive” after he was rescued from the water off Tullagh beach in Clonmany yesterday afternoon.
The rescue involved the Lough Swilly Lifeboat, Greencastle Coastguard, the Sligo based rescue helicopter and a local vessel.
The alarm was raised by two people on the shoreline close to Clonmany who heard the man calling for help from over quarter of a mile away.
