Derry/Strabane Supercouncil calls for increased investment in northwest

a5The Derry and Strabane District Council, which is operating in “shadow” form until next April has backed calls for increased investment in critical infrastructural projects in the North West.
The four key projects identified at the meeting were the Derry Belfast rail line, the Derry rail station, the A6 and the A5.
The issue was raised by Cllr Martin Reilly, who said this incoming council has to address very difficult economic challenges with such high levels of unemployment and deprivation, and improved infrastructure will be vital in tackling that.
He says there is also an important cross border element to be considered, particularly where the A5 is concerned…………..
