Michael Funston scored a dramatic late winner to give Finn Harps a deserved victory over title-chasing Shelbourne at Finn Park on Friday night.
The midfielder curled a shot in off the post on 87 minutes to hand Harps a first win over Shels this season.
The visitors now find themselves four points behind the leaders Longford Town, who won away to Waterford.
It had looked so good for Shelbourne when they took the lead through Gareth Coughlan on 31 minutes.
However, Harps equalised when Damien McNulty scored on 40 and then Funston scored his first of the night on 63.
But Shelbourne were level again on 70 minutes when Dylan Connolly squeezed the ball home under Conor Winn in the Harps goal.
Then with time running out, Funston curled home a delightful winner much to the delight of the big home crowd.
