Man arrested after suspected double murder in Carndonagh

Gardai in Carndonagh have arrested a man following the suspicious death of a couple in their 70s this morning.
It’s understood gardai went to a house and made the grim discovery of two bodies. The house has been sealed off pending the arrival of the state pathologist.
In a statement issued a short time ago, gardai confirm the bodies of a man and woman in their 70s at their home in Carndonagh Co Donegal shortly after 9am this morning, and al the circumstances of their deaths are being investigated
A short time later a man in his 40s was arrested and he is currently being detained at Buncrana Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act- 1984. The scene is currently preserved pending a Garda forensic examination. The Office of the State Pathologist has been informed and investigations are continuing.
