New figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Association show that overcrowding at Letterkenny General last month was down compared to October of 2013.
133 people were admitted to Letterkenny General last month on trolleys in the Emergency Department or Wards – that’s compared to 160 in October of last year.
However the figure for 2012 was 32 which the INMO says points to a worsening problem.
At Sligo Regional Hospital, which serves much of South Donegal, 162 people were admitted to the hospital to be put on trolleys last month up from 37 in October 2013.
