Derry City and Strabane District Council are calling on the Education Minister in the North to stop the proposed cuts to local schools.
The motion was put forward by Cllr Patsy Kelly who claims dozens of teaching jobs will be lost in the Strabane area if the cuts go ahead.
He says Holy Cross College will lose £400,000 while St Mary’s Primary School will lose over £120,000.
Cllr Kelly says Strabane has experienced enough hardship and more cuts are not an option…….
