Two horses saved from drowning in dramatic rescue near Donnyloop chapel

finn-floodEmergency services in Strabane have this afternoon been involved in a major operation to rescue two horses stranded in flood waters.
Concerns were expressed about the animals which had become trapped on a small patch of land surrounded by flood water close to Donnyloop Chapel.
A number of boats were used as part of the rescue.
Kevin McGinley of the Donegal ISPCA visited the scene – he says the animals would have perished if it were not for the rescue teams:
