Carrick search ends as body is found

A 10-day mountain and sea search ended in South West Donegal today when a body was recovered by searchers.
The body, believed to be that of 38-year-old David Maguire, was found on rocks in an area known as Spanish Arch at Towney, near Kilcar
Mr Maguire, who lived alone and is separated from his partner – the mother of his children – was last seen leaving a party at 4.30 a.m on New Year’s Day near his home in Carrick.
The searches for him started on January 2nd when he was officially reported missing.
Hundreds of people searched daily for him in appalling weather. The Coastguard Rescue 118 helicopter from Strandhill, Donegal Mountain Rescue team, Killybegs Coast Guard and gardai carried out searches from Killybegs to Glencolmcille as well as searching the area around Sliabh League.
