Council stresses Lifford water main works have no connection with meter installation

Donegal County Council is warning of traffic delays in Lifford until March as work begins to replace 600 metres of watermain along the main N15 Lifford to Ballybofey Road.
The council is stressing this work is to replace the watermain, and is not linked to the installation of water meters.
Motorists are being urged to factor in the possibility of delays when planning their journeys.
Donegal County Council says the works will commence on the N15 at the roundabout and will finish at a point just past Coneyburrow Housing Estate. The works will include the replacement of existing watermain, and the resurfacing of the 600 metre section of road.
New water connections will be provided to facilitate the switchover from the old watermain to the new watermain, thus minimising the disruption to water supply. However, the council is stresing this contract does not include the provision of new water meters.
The council says efforts will be made to minimise disruption to the public, but due to the proximity of the works to the Lifford roundabout, delays should be expected.
The works are expected to take around two months to complete.
