Harps drawn with Galway as Derry City and Cockhill get byes

Just one of the north west clubs will be involved in first round action of the EA Sports Cup at the start of next month.
Finn Harps have been drawn against Galway United while both Derry City and Ulster Senior League champions Cockhill Celtic have been given byes.
It’s the second year in a row that Harps go to Galway in the competition, Ollie Horgan’s side lost 1-0 in March 2014 to Galway FC.
In the other game to be played in Pool 2, Sligo Rovers take on the Mayo League.
The first round games will be played on Monday the 9th March, just days after the start of the new League of Ireland season.

Pool 1 – Wexford Youths v UCC, Cobh Ramblers v Limerick. Byes: Cork City, Waterford United.
Pool 2 – Mayo League v Sligo Rovers, Galway United v Finn Harps. Byes: Derry City, Cockhill Celtic.
Pool 3 – Crumlin United v Bray Wanderers, Drogheda United v Shelbourne. Byes: Dundalk, St Patrick’s Athletic.
Pool 4 – UCD v Cabinteely, Bohemians v Athlone Town. Byes: Shamrock Rovers, Longford Town.
