The Breast Care Surgeon at Letterkenny General Hospital has claimed that he is being prevented from doing his job properly, in a manner which he believes is intended to force his resignation.
Mr Michael Sugrue was speaking on the Shaun Doherty Show this morning in his capacity as a representative of the Irish Hospital Consultants Organization.
He said he cannot carry on as he is doing at present, particularly as the Saolta Hospital Group will not appoint a second surgeon to the facility in Letterkenny.
He said there appears to be a clear agenda in Galway to stop the service in Letterkenny, but stressed, in the short term at least, that the service in Letterkenny is safe……….
