The numbers signing on the Live Register in Donegal at the end of July were 9 and a half per cent down on the same period last year.
Latest CSO figures show there were 18,197 people on the register at the end of July, with falls in all of the local offices.
Percentage wise, the biggest fall was in Killybegs with 998 people signing, down 16%.
There were 3,463 people on the register in Buncranna and in Dunfanaghy 1,269, both down over 12%, while there was a 14 and half per cent drop in Donegal Town , with 1,068 people signing on.
There were 2,398 people on the register in Ballybofey, down 11%, 1,317 in Ballyshannon, down 9% and 5,711 in Letterkenny, down nearly 6%.
The smallest rise was recorded in Dungloe, with 1,973 signing on, a fall of just 4.5%.
