A 33 year old man has been arrested following a search in the Waterside area of Derry in relation to the seizure of steroids in England.
Police say the steroids, with a potential street value in excess of £30,000, were en route to an address in Derry.
A large quantity of suspected counterfeit DVD’s and electronic equipment was recovered during the search of the property.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted possession of class C controlled drugs with intent to supply and copyright offences. He is currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Tom McClure said: “We are grateful to our colleagues in the National Crime Agency for their timely assistance in this intervention. The PSNI is committed to policing the threat posed by drugs in Northern Ireland and will continue to work with our colleagues in NCA and elsewhere in relation to detecting those involved in the illegal supply of drugs.”
