The Mayo County Board are to meet with the players on Thursday following the vote of ‘no confidence’ in the management team.
Pat Holmes and Noel Connelly led the side to an All Ireland semi final replay defeat to Dublin earlier in the month.
But this hasn’t prevented a “significant majority” of the football panel voting to see them replaced.
According to reports in this mornings press, it’s understood the outcome of the vote was 27-7 and at least one their their highest profile players is though to be among the seven.
Mayo secretary Vincent Neary called news of the vote a “bombshell”, and that no reasons for the panel’s discontent have been revealed…
