A Donegal councillor says the medical card application system for older people is making applicants jump through hoops to fill interminable forms, and seems more geared towards saving money than providing the best possible service to those who need it.
Cllr Ian Mc Garvey says that since he raised the issue earlier in the year with the HSE and Minister Leo Varadkar, the situation has become worse rather than better.
He says many older people are are not seeking medical attention because they can’t afford it, and that’s unacceptable………….
