Unlawful killing verdicts returned in Inishowen crash inquest

Scales of justice
The jury in the inquest into the deaths of eight men who died in a crash near Clonmany in July 2010 has returned verdicts of unlawful death as a result of dangerous driving.
Coroner Dr John Madden said ten people could have died that night, adding that the tragedy had shocked Ireland and the world.
He acknowledged the inquest is not going to solve anything for the families expressed hope it would be one less hurdle to help them get on with the rest of their lives. He said the inquest was never going to provide all the answers the families were seeking.
The families of some of the eight men killed expressed their frustration with the remit of the Coroner’s Court after the verdict.
