Lagan Harps’ Ladies were unlucky in the All Ireland U18 Girls’ Final when they lost 1-0 to Castlebar Celtic at McSharry Park in Sligo.
Lagan Harps got off to the worst possible start, conceding after 11 minutes from a goal by Megan Diver, and that was the score at half-time.
In the second half, Harps hit the post and had a shot cleared off the line.
Castlebar were expected to the fitter team because Harps, who play summer football, are out of season while Castlebar, who play winter football, were recently crowned Connaught champions.
But Harps really took the game to Castlebar in the last 10 minutes, but the final score was Lagan Harps’ Ladies 0 v 1 Castlebar Celtic.
