The counting of votes cast in the Donegal constituency has resumed at the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny, with the eighth count now underway, distributing the votes of SF candidate Gary Doherty.
The pattern of his transfers will be vital, with the party hoping a substantial number of his votes will go to Padraig Mac Lochlainn, who is fighting for the last seat with Thomas Pringle.
This count is likely to see the election of Pearse Doherty, and his surplus distribution will also be key.
