Sinn Fein’s Gary Doherty has confirmed that the party has sought and been granted a recheck of votes after the sixth count, which saw him eliminated with just seven votes less than Independent Dessie Shiels.
It’s an indication of the seriousness of the battle for the final seat between Independent Thomas Pringle and Sinn Fein’s Padraig Mac Lochlainn.
