World number three Rory McIlroy says this week’s World Golf Championship matchplay event is the perfect preparation for the Masters.
Defending champion McIlroy will face Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen and American pair Kevin Na and Smylie Kaufman in Austin Texas.
The winner will face off against the winner of Group 14, which includes Ireland’s Shane Lowry while Graeme Mc Dowell has been placed with Jason Day Paul Casey, & Thongchai Jaidee.
It’ll be McIlroy’s last tournament before the first major of the season in April.
