Nicky Byrne gushes about wife Georgina: ‘She’s my soulmate’

Nicky Byrne has gushed about his wife Georgina, admitting she is his “soulmate”.
The 2FM host spoke about falling for the brunette back in his school days, admitting he had no idea she was the daughter of Bertie Ahern.
“I didn’t realise that she was Bertie Ahern’s daughter,” he told the RTE Guide.
“Then I saw her one Budget Day standing on the steps of the Dail alongside Bertie. I was at home watching TV and said to my mother ‘There she is mam, that’s the girl from my class.”
The pair married in 2003, and have since had three children: twin boys Rocco and Jay and their daughter Gia.
“We got together when we were 16 and now here we are three children later,” he said.
“She is my soulmate: there is no other way of putting it. I am a family man first and foremost. I think it is simply down to how I was brought up,” he explained.
“My dad would have worked his ass off, brought me to football training, and later have gone out gigging.
“Tonight one of my lads is training so after I finish here I’ll head straight to the training ground. But that’s all part and parcel of being a dad, that’s what you sign up for,” he added.
Nicky is headed to Sweden next week and will perform Sunlight at the Eurovision semi-final on Thursday May 12.
