Over 400 competitors are tipped to take part in the gruelling Wild Atlantic Adventure Race (WAAR) challenge next weekend.
WAAR’s health and safety officer Charlie “The Yank Bank” Boyle told Saturday Sport that the 54 km endurance race is well on its way to recording its highest numbers.
Some 260 competitors took part last year, while 360 have already registered this year and this is expected to rise to at least 400.
The second year of WAAR will be staged next Saturday, May 14.
It comprises a 7.5 km run, a 42.5 km cycle, a 2 km hike, and 2 km kayak.
Charlie told Tom Comack that registrations are still open…
