Too easy for Champions Dundalk at Finn Park

Four-nil up at the break, Stephen Kenny’s men didn’t take the foot off the gas after the break and goals from David McMillan (58) and Andy Boyle (71) put Dundalk six to the good before substitute Paddy Barrett’s late strike rounded off an easy night at the office.
They’d gone in front after five minutes when Robbie Benson flashed a wonderful header past the flat-footed Ciaran Gallagher.
Benson made it 2-0 on 20 and when the excellent Daryl Horgan fired in No. 3 on 36 it was game over.
Ronan Finn’s shot, which deflected in off Ciaran Coll, helped Dundalk into a 4-0 half time lead.
Harps offered little in the way of any threat although Sean Houston was unlucky to see his header go wide of the post midway through the second half.
Next up for Harps is Tuesday night’s rescheduled trip to play St. Pat’s Athletic.
