A campaign is being launched in Derry this evening seeking the extension of the full concessionary Smart Travel Pass to all those who are not allowed to drive for medical reasons.
Currently, many who cannot drive for medical reasons, such as people who are partially sighted, are only entitled to a half fare concession whereas in the Republic and in Britain, they are entitled to a full concessionary travel pass.
Brian Murray, who is partially sighted as a result of a brain injury, says people in Northern Ireland are at a disadvantage, and that’s what tonight’s launch at the Playhouse is seeking to address………….
