Detectives in Derry are appealing for information following a serious assault on a man in the Waterloo Street area of the city.
A man, believed to be in his 20’s, was assaulted and taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not thought to be serious.
The PSNI say that it is thought the man was involved in an altercation with two other men at approximately 1:30am this morning.
Detective Chief Inspector James Mullan said that the Police believe a number of other men came to try and break up the fight and they are asking them or anyone with any details to contact detectives at Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number from Northern Ireland 101.
