Police in the North have charged a 28 year-old male with a number of offenses relating to an armed robbery in Derry.
A shop in the Westland Street area of the city was targeted in the early hours of Saturday morning.
At around 1.45am yesterday morning a masked male, armed with a knife and a hammer, entered a shop on Westland Street and threatened staff.
The suspect demanded money from the till before making off with a sum of cash.
The 28 year-old male will appear before Derry Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with robbery, two counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and common assault.
Detective Sergeant Brian Reid thanked the local community for their help and assistance in the investigation.
