There has been a welcome to news today that funding has been approved for the installation of variable speed limit signs at a number of Donegal national schools.
Among the schools to get the safety measure is Magherabeg which was the scene this morning of a protest by parents concerned with the speed of traffic outside the school.
They have welcomed today’s news but say it is regrettable that protests had to take place before action was taken.
The new signs will be erected within 10 weeks, these parents earlier outlined why they are so important:
The other National schools to benefit from variable speed limit signs are Lurgybrack, Holy Trinity, Dunfanaghy,Faugher, Portnablagh, Illistrin, Ballylast, St. Eunan’s in Laghy and Kilbarron, Ballyshannon
