Joe and Katya are your Strictly Come Dancing 2017 winners!

He was crowned the dark horse of the competition, and now Joe McFadden has raced to the finish line with Pro partner Katya Jones, becoming the 15th champion couple to lift the Glitterball trophy.

From the get-go the dancing duo stunned us all with their outstanding ability, and they definitely didn’t disappoint in the Grand Final. The pair delivered three spectacular performances, including their cheeky Charleston to ‘Rag Time Band’, a showdance to ‘You Make My Dreams Come True’, and the Judges’ pick: their Movie Week Viennese Waltz to ‘Somewhere my Love’.
After wowing us all over again, Joe was overjoyed to be taking the winning title. “It feels completely surreal and I’m so in awe of everyone who started who those all weeks ago. We’ve all become such a tight unit and I love them all to bits,” he said.
Speaking about his Pro partner Katya, Joe added: “This woman is the most amazing woman. Thank you so much for sticking with me and persevering, and being the most amazing artist and dancer and counsellor and slave driver! She’s amazing.”

The couple fought off stiff competition from actress Gemma Atkinson and partner Aljaž Skorjanec, singer Alexandra Burke and partner Gorka Marquez, and stage performer Debbie McGee and her Pro Giovanni Pernice.

While we’re sad another year is over, we couldn’t be happier for our triumphant couple. It’s been a magical journey for Joe, who has worked so hard and truly embodies the spirit of Strictly.
