Maguire named Coach of the Year at BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards

Stephen Maguire of Strabane, who coached Great Britain’s 4 x 100m men’s team to a gold medal at this year’s World Championships, has been named as Coach of the Year along with fellow Great Britain coaches Benke Blomkvist and Christian Malcolm.
The BBC Sports Personality Awards took place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool last night, and this is the second time in a month that Maguire and the coaching team have been awarded for their work with the Great British teams following their High Performance Coach of the Year award last month.
Maguire, Blomkvist and Malcolm and Maguire also helped the women’s 4x100m and 4x400m teams to bronze medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
