Donegal man charged in connection to Strokestown incident

 
A Donegal man has appeared in court in Co. Roscommon charged with violent disorder at a house near Strokestown before Christmas.
54 year old PJ Sweeney, whose address is given as High Cairn, Ramelton, was charged in connection to an attack which occurred in the wake of an eviction served by order of the High Court on a house in Falsk, near Strokestown in Co. Roscommon.
Evidence of arrest, charge and caution was given at a special sitting of Roscommon District Court, to which the accused made no response.
Mr Sweeney was refused bail and was remanded in custody, to appear at Harristown District Court in Castlerea, on Friday.
