Floods of 2017 ‘remains devastating incident’, meeting hears

 

A meeting has heard that the floods of August 2017 remains a devastating incident which has not been fully addressed.
Some families in Burnfoot are still in limbo as to when they can return to their homes while others who have returned are said to be living in constant fear of when a flood could destroy their home again.
While €1.5million has been secured to build some flood prevention measures, there are calls for the project to be fast tracked.
Cllr Jack Murray says there are families in Buncrana, Quigleys Point and throughout Inishowen who have yet to be assured of such funding.
He says anger and frustration is being felt right across the peninsula:
