Gardai are urging people to be vigilant and report any missing life saving equipment.
Its after Gardai in Buncrana were informed recently of 3 missing ring buoys at Inch pier.
The life saving equipment could not be located for and was not accounted for as having been used in an emergency.
They have since been replaced.
Gardai are calling on people to remain vigilant and to notify them or Water Safety Ireland if they notice a ring buoy missing from its stand or if they observe any incidents involving the misuse or theft of any type of safety equipment.
